Every year in August UDIK, in cooperation with the Center for Women War Victims – ROSA from Zagreb, organizes activities under the slogan “The storm is the responsibility of all of us” with the aim to remind Croatia, but also Bosnia and Herzegovina, of the crimes committed against Serbian civilians in Croatia, and to force Croatia to confess crimes committed against Serbian civilians in the military – police operation „Storm”. Activities are organized the same day in Zagreb and Sarajevo.
In 2015, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo forbidden UDIK’s activity on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the crimes committed in the military – police operation “Storm”. UDIK was supposed to perform the activity in Sarajevo in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia. The prohibition of these activities has brought, in the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, strong indignation and strong condemnation of the decision. Because of the circumstances of the ban, the activity on the occasion of the campaign “The storm is the responsibility of all of us” was held only in Zagreb.
UDIK reminds that in the military – police operation “Storm” were killed and missing 1 853 Serbs and expelled at least 220 000 from the territory of the former Republic of Serbian Krajina.
Activities to mark the anniversary of the killing of Serbs in “Operation Storm” were supported by: Croatian Women’s Network, Center for civil courage, the Serb Civic Council of Zagreb, Zagreb Association of libertarian activists and others.
