THE COMMEMORATION AND BURIAL OF 28 CIVILIANS FROM ZVORNIK

UDIK posts On Wednesday, June 1, 2016, the Association for Social Research and Communications (UDIK) will attend a memorial service in Zvornik on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the killing of Bosniaks from this area. Commemoration and collective burial of 28 civil war victims from the municipality of Zvornik will take place at the Memorial Centre and Martyrs’ cemetery in Gornja Kalesija, near Zvornik.
Eight victims have been identified, while the other twenty bodies will be buried as unidentified. For crimes committed in Zvornik was sentenced Sreten Lazarevic to imprisonment of eight years, Dragan Stanović to seven years imprisonment and Slobodan Ostojic to five years in prison.
With this activity UDIK will pay tribute to the innocent victims. Also UDIK calls on the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H, as well as the domestic courts to speed up the process and punish those responsible for crimes committed in Zvornik.
