THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE CRIMES COMMITTED IN VUKOVAR

UDIK-postsOn Sunday, November 20, 2016 the Association for Social Research and Communications (UDIK) will organize a visit to Vukovar, on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the crimes committed in this city. Commemoration and wreath laying ceremony will be held at the former war camp Velepromet at 09:30 am.
On November 18, 1991 ended three-month siege and bombing of this town by the Yugoslav National Army and Serbian paramilitary forces, during which has spent in the bombing of Vukovar more than 6.5 million grenades. During the three-month siege, in Vukovar were killed more than three thousand civilians and veterans, among them 86 children. After the fall of Vukovar hundreds of captured soldiers and civilians passed torture during capture and transport, but also in the camps and prisons in Serbia (in Stajicevo, Sremska Mitrovica, Aleksinac and Nis).
With this activity UDIK wants to remind the public of the victims in Vukovar and the surrounding area and with the wreath-laying to pay homage to all the innocent civilians killed in this town. Also, UDIK wants to remind that we all have a responsibility to remember these victims and to remember what happened in Vukovar in 1991.
