The Association for Social Research and Communications (UDIK) on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 will mark the anniversary of the death of Matea Juric from Zenica. The standing will be organized at 12pm on the Square of Alija Izetbegovic in Zenica.
Two years old girl Matea Juric was killed on May 13, 1992 in the village Radakovo in the car of her father Drago Juric. She was the first civilian victim of war who died by gunfire during a military blockade of the barracks on Bilimisce. While some argue that it was the stray bullet, the others point out that the car was fired by automatic firearm at close range. Even today it is not confirmed who killed this child and the investigation regarding the suffering Matea Juric transferred in 2006 from Zenica Prosecutor’s Office in the jurisdiction of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.
With this action UDIK wants to pay tribute to this child, but also to remind the public of this terrible and inhuman act for which no one was punished. With this act, the Prosecutor’s Office is in the function of hiding the crime.
