The Association for Social Research and Communications (UDIK) on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 will lay a wreath at the memorial center „Veljaci“ at 12pm, after which UDIK’s activists will attend the collective funeral at the cemetery „Veljaci“.
We remind that, according to current official datas, in Bratunac in 1992 were killed 603 Bosniaks civilians. In the previous eight collective funerals were buried 273 bodies. On Tuesday will be buried 10 civilian victims, although it is possible that in the next few days that number increases.
With our presence and wreath laying we want to pay tribute to the victims of crimes committed in Bratunac, in a city where there is no political will nor the moral capacity to institutionally dealing with this crime and is therefore still in force or political and civil denial of crimes. UDIK wants to call a civil society from the Republic of Srpska to come on this commemoration and to show that their moral act of dealing with the past is more important than the politics of those who lead this municipality.
