The Association for Social Research and Communications Brcko DC BiH (UDIK Brcko DC BiH) on April 7th, 2015 will perform the street action on the occasion of the anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda. The half-hour action will be performed in Brcko on the Square of Youth at 12 o’clock.
The massacre in Rwanda took place in April 1994, when for three months were killed more than a million people, mostly from the minority Tutsi, but also members of the Hutu who opposed the Hutu extremists. This represents the most brutal genocide crime during the Rwandan Civil War.
UDIK with this action wants to pay tribute to the victims and to remind society in this brutal massacre in human history. This is our way to show society that we always have a choice and that we must never be indifferent to intolerance and human suffering.
The genocide in Rwanda was a terrible crime that we remember and failure of the world to respond faster and prevent the same. Genocide was not accidental nor inevitable. It was a deliberate and systematic attempt of one human being to destroy another human being. It is the duty of every society that is reminiscent of the horrific events such as this and similar tragedy will never happen.
