The Association for Social Research and Communications (UDIK) informs the public that on Thursday, December 8, 2015, will organize an activity to celebrate Human Rights Day. Half-hour activity will be carried out at noon at the Square of Youth in Brcko.
Human Rights Day is celebrated on the day of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948, when for the first time in the history of mankind recognized that everyone, without distinction, has the right to “life, liberty and security”. These rights are universal and inalienable; indivisible, common to all people, regardless of race, ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, language or any other status. Because of this, we are aware of the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina lives in a culture of violence and that every day more and more shows signs of the country with weakened democratic principles. At that same moment, this gives strength to those who do not respect the diversity of other and different to spend the violence that is reflected in various ways in our community.
With this activity, UDIK wants to invite the public in solidarity with all those in Bosnia and Herzegovina which are not provided basic human rights. Also, UDIK wants to send a message that equality and respect for diversity are basis for peace building, and only in this case we can talk about Bosnia and Herzegovina as a democratic state.
